Gibson + Daly + Spears = Podcast Magic

Deborah_studio_for_web Just had a sizzling sit-down interview with the incandescent Deborah Gibson (I just called her "Gibson"), who was visiting the St. Pete Times on a promotional tour. As part of an upcoming Stuck in the '80s podcast/video spectacular, Steve Spears and I talked with the '80s sensation-turned-Broadway star for about 45 minutes in the studio.

I thought Steve's head was gonna explode when he asked her about posing for Playboy. She was totally toying with him, too -- then, after dishing about the nudity, she told a saucy tale of Playboy Mansion mayhem. Hot, very hot. Especially since she looks drop-dead gorgeous in person, about 10 years younger than her 37. Her secret? She's never tried drugs, alcohol or smokes. (Me? I did all those things on the way to work this morning.)

Anyway, Gibson is promoting a series of projects (including a monthlong run at Harrah's in Atlantic City). She also has some new songs ready to record, so a comeback album could be on the horizon. The video of our chat will probably go up before the actual podcast, so we'll keep you updated. Right now, I have to get the defibs for Spears.

Oh well, at least he'll go out with a smile on his face.

I'll have to listen to the podcast to decide which one of you devolves in the most manic fanboydom.

But considering Steve will be doing the editing, it doesn't look good for you..

By the way, are those authentic disposable plastic cups? You really pull out all the stops for your guests!

Sounds like great fun. Can't wait for the podcast.

Wow! You both survived without having heart attacks or strokes. Way to go, guys! I'm so proud of you. So, when are you guys going to make up some work related excuse to head to Atlantic City?

Hey Riss,
There may not have been heart attacks, but not sure about the strokes bit. I'm sure it crossed their minds. It's interesting to compare versions of the inteview. No mention of Steven Q's goodbye hug from DG over here.

Ian, I noticed the hug ommission. Sean's just trying to keep things in perspective. You know, totally keeping it on a professional level. 'Cuz, that's just the kind of interviewer he is, right Sean?

Hey Sean, I like the shirt you're wearing in the DG sandwich photo. Me likey.
I'm curious though, your hand is on Steve's shoulder rather than Ms. Gibson's. So, that makes me curious if you're trying to give him the Vulcan pinch to render him unconscious. Was this group photo before or after you got the handshake?

Between me and Sean, wouldn't I be the one more likely to be the Vulcan? He's so Capt. Kirk!

The group photo came right after the interview, but before the goodbye handshake and the goodbye hug.

Naturally, Steve. That's why the Vulcan pinch didn't work on you.

I did notice that Stevie Q's blog was titled "Me and Deborah? Only in my dreams" Since he is obviously trying to edge Seany boy out of the action, should the title have been "Me and Deborah only? In my dreams" At least Sean includes his best mate in on the action.
Also Riss, I don't think it was in "perspective" that SD was trying to keep it.

SD, so did you take care of Sparky. 8x10 suitable for framing? huh? did ya? huh?
