"15 Minutes of Shame"? Oh, that's too easy...
From a terrifying press release...
"NASHVILLE, TN –- Season seven American Idol finalist Kristy Lee Cook has signed a recording contract with 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville. A 24-year-old native of Selma, Ore., Cook is a passionate animal lover and avid horse trainer who sold her barrel horse to pay for her transportation to Philadelphia to audition for Idol. Now in preparation for the American Idols Live! Tour 2008, Kristy Lee will team with producer Brett James to record her album between tour dates, with an album release this fall. Her first single, the playful, up-tempo 15 Minutes of Shame, will impact radio on Aug. 11."

Sean Daly is the pop music critic for the St. Petersburg Times. His CD collection -- from Journey to Dylan, Prince to U2, Public Enemy to Stan Getz -- is much bigger and better than yours.
A more apt title, there never was.

Oh SD, when I heard this news on the radio on the way to work this morning, and heard the title of the song, I thought of how much fun you would have with this. All I can say is, why would you do this to yourself?? With all the criticism that she got during the show, and then she releases a song like this.

Honestly, why doesn't she just wear a t-shirt with a big target on it, or have a big old 'Kick Me' sign on her back.

Once again, this goes to show that you really can't make stuff like this up.
Best part of that press release: "Her first single, the playful, up-tempo 15 Minutes of Shame, will impact radio on Aug. 11." Suuuure it will...

Dear God, NO! OF all days for an official release: MY 43rd Birthday. Say it isn't so. I just threw up in my mouth ... a lot.
Just when I thought I was rid of that hay-bale tart. UGH!

Today's your birthday???? Oh, we might have to do something special for that.

Sorry for the confusion. Stop the parade! Cancel the ponies. Reschedule the male strippers (hetero ones of course). On second thought, go ahead and send the strippers/masseurs/cabana boys to me now.

"15 Minutes of Shame"?
No doubt inspired by her epic struggle to figure out the intricacies of the ball point pen at her contract signing.

The one thing that sticks out in my mind from her appearances on Americn Idol was the time she did "Hide Your Love Away" and she said she never heard the song until the day she was going to perform it!!!!! You have got to be kidding me!! I mean, I know I am a bit older but come on. If you are going to be a professional singer get out and listen to some more music.

I'm headed to Best Buy at midnight to pick this one up.
As long as the CD jacket includes lots of close-ups of KLC and doesn't include her version of "8 Days a Week", I'll be fine.

wow! Some of y'all really have a problem, no matter how much you complain about Kristy or what she sings...she'll still be way the hell richer than any of you...get over it...she's living a great life that you all will obviously never have with your attitudes!

You all seriously have a problem....do any of you have the slightest idea what the meaning of the song is? Obviously not....
"So what are those 15 minutes? Kristy Lee told “USA Today” that the song is about “rattin’ out your ex, telling the truth about him.” She said her fiancé likes the song, especially since it mentions Cook’s ex, Jason (She didn’t reveal his last name.)."

I think it's actually quirky enough to be a hit. She sounds good on the cut and I for one, wish her much success. The girl took more criticism than was due her, I think and she still is reaching for her 2nd chance. How about some objectivity?
