I miss Don Henley's Afro

HenleyYou probably already know this -- I'm weeding thru 8,000 emails in my inbox right now -- but the Eagles are coming to Tampa.

On Thursday, Jan. 29, Don, Glenn, Joe and the boys will play the St. Pete Times Forum. Tickets go on sale Monday, Oct. 20 and will be available at ticketmaster.com. Prices range from $47.75 in the nosebleeds to $187.75 for the front row.

I'll be there 'cuz it's my job. But if I were one of you guys...I dunno. Don't get me wrong: They'll play for two-plus hours, and you'll get all the goodies. But after seeing them a few years ago (and growing up with their music spinning 24-7 on the Mom and Dad stereo), I realized my body has maxed out on Life in the Fast Lane.

That said, if Henley still sported that killer 'fro, I'd pay double.

I'm personally burned out on the Eagles. They're last album sounds like a rehash of all their others. Maybe I can listen to them again 10 years down the line. But there's lots of good dirt on orgy-loving Don Henley & other rock stars & actors in the book `You'll Never Make Love in This Town Again', a NY Times Bestseller that came out in 1995. They have `kudos` for Glenn "Simply the Best" Frey though. Pass the straw & check out the juice.

I'd pass - some of the new material holds up pretty well live, the classics (Desperado, Peaceful Easy Feeling) are great; what's painful is their insistence on pretending the group is a democracy and letting Timothy B. Schmitt and Joe Walsh sing. Sure, Walsh serves as court jester to the Messers. Frey and Henley, but if I'd rather stick a fork in my eye than listen to Rocky Mountain Way again.

Bassnote, hope you're surgery goes well Friday & that you get back to rockin again FAST!

Jo & Joe

One more thing cuz Sean is into all things Elvis these days:

Lisa Marie gave birth to twin girls last Tuesday. Their names have not yet been released. Momma & babies are all doing fine.

Now I can't type anymore cuz I cannot seem to control my correct useage of words & apostrophes today.

Thanks for the well wishing Jo (& Joe).

boy, that fro kinda looks like micky dolenz(circa 1967-1970).
