Imagine a long, lashing guitar solo, one juiced by anger and frustration and dead-end desperation, one that makes you want to rocket out of your seat — or at least pull off a few sweet air moves. Despite the fact that I often have no idea what he's talking about, I really like Jack White. Whether he's helming the White Stripes or the Raconteurs, or even producing the incandescent likes of Loretta Lynn, the Detroiter is an endlessly fascinating dude, a classic-rock god reflected in a funhouse mirror. His latest project is called the Dead Weather, a psycho-bluesy outfit in which White duets with Kills frontwoman Alison Mosshart. It's grindy, groiny stuff. The new album is called Horehound; the first single is right here, Treat Me Like Your Mother. Whattaya think?
