J.R. Reed is back on his feet

Those of you who followed J.R. Reed at USF and/or Hillsborough High no doubt were encouraged by his performance for the Eagles in last Sunday's Hall of Fame game, especially the way he flattened Raiders receiver Kevin McMahan on a post pattern. Best of all, Reed afterward reported no ill effects from the career-threatening injury that kept him out all of last season. In case you missed it, here's the story Times staff writer Brandon Wright recently wrote about Reed's attempt to come back from a sheared peroneal nerve: http://www.sptimes.com/2006/08/01/Bucs/Braced_to_fly_upfield.shtml.
