clearwater baby!!!!.. all the way!!!!
Posted by: | October 20, 2006 at 10:45 PM
Much props to Clearwater they wanted it more we choked big time
Posted by: | October 20, 2006 at 10:47 PM
I give it up to Land O Lakes Gators for coming back vs Gaither after being down 24-0 at the half to come back and win 28-24....Joe Weatherford had a good game and bounce back from starting off the game not doing good....Wharton better be ready cause Land O Lakes looks like they are back to last season's form.

Oh no, outcoached AGAIN. That great coaching machine, impossible to believe. Could it be that the "coaching staff" can't win the big one. I feel sorry for the kids that have to play under all those rejects.

Hooray for Gibbs for having a chance to get into the playoffs. They have hung tuff all year. Good luck next week.

Wow.. High School football is such an emotionally charged game of momentum!
Land O' Lakes comes back from 24-0...
Clearwater comes back from 24-6...
Dixie Hollins and Gibbs have turned their
seasons around and are still in the playoff hunt..Even St. Pete Catholic deserves recognition for not quitting on their season...Belief, Desire, Never Quit Attitude..
These are the hallmarks of winning teams.
Any team can be defeated if the will to win
is exceptional!

At last, a person with a positive and correct attitude towards high school football. I applaud you.
Posted by: | October 21, 2006 at 10:41 AM
I agree 1041!
Posted by: | October 21, 2006 at 10:47 AM
I agree as well i wish more people posted like that.
Posted by: | October 21, 2006 at 11:21 AM
Here comes the theme of the week
Belief, Desire, Never Quit Attitude
Posted by: | October 21, 2006 at 11:35 AM
Is someone making t shirts with that on the front? Great sentiments.....
Posted by: | October 21, 2006 at 01:00 PM
well looks like some good games this week. good way to finish a season.
Posted by: | October 21, 2006 at 02:46 PM
Well positive comments should be coming from these blog cause these kids play their hearts out and and the saying goes when they lose they get too much credit but when they win they get to less of the credit so maybe now alot more people have realize that it is just a game and we all do have our opinions of course but we should try not to go too far with them.
Posted by: Andy | October 21, 2006 at 05:21 PM
Wow...have you ever seen a Coach blow a game like Matt Smith did for his hard fighting Leopards friday night against NCTHS? All his second half time outs used on one fruitless drive??? Then they run out of time inside the 10???
Posted by: hernando alum | October 21, 2006 at 05:45 PM
great game between southeast and osceola, this is turning out to be a rather exciting district with 2 teams at 3-1 and one at 4-0
Posted by: | October 21, 2006 at 05:59 PM
Have to give it up for the CCC boys last night! Nate Lenz made several key plays and Jordan Becker, with the last catch as the clock hit zero to keep the game from overtime! Way to go CCC!
Posted by: | October 21, 2006 at 06:29 PM
Tarpon is one of the best team in pinellas county straight up. You'll see em merkin people in the playoffs.
MERK CITY
Posted by: | October 21, 2006 at 11:54 PM
How did Tarpon do against Dunedin?
I'm pretty sure Largo would handle them
pretty well.
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 12:39 AM
I just want to say Congrats to Clearwater....they have really stepped things up when needed to lately. Good luck against East Lake and beat them into the ground.
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 12:52 AM
Armwood Hawks defense continues to dominate holding Brandons Mike Brown "The best runningback in the county" to a -20 yards. Offense is clicking as well putting up 64 points with a running clock.
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 06:32 AM
NEHI was up on Bogie 21-0 at halftime and let bogie come back to send it to O.T. 28-28. Northeast needs to start finishing games better.
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 08:38 AM
Nobody on this blog gives a hoot about Armwood. Go to a Hillsboro blog
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 09:42 AM
Largo would demolish Tarpon Springs. And Osceola. `nuff said.
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 10:40 AM
Largo sucks dick. There over rated
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 12:38 PM
Wow the QB from clearwater showed you how to beat Dunedin. I think he is the best QB in the county. Dun Dun can be passed on. Clearwater really exposed Dun Dun. Know clue why countryside only thre 17 times against them. If the Clearwater QB were to work on football instead of Basketball he could play at a big time program. Six foot five, big arm and can move.
Clearwatrer is really hitting their stride can they still make the playoffs?
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 07:41 PM
Yes i believe they can but they would need palm harbor to beat dunedin n they would be in a tiebreak with the loser of the countryside vs. east lake game... thats if dunedin loses to palm harbor tho
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 07:54 PM
Ummm can you please check the stats Loucks did not pass well at on on dunedin it was the running game and turnovers that won the game for clearwater. i think he was like 8 of 26 if you call that a good passing game. Dunedin even had more passing yards than clearwater by alot
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 08:10 PM
Mr Crow get off the blog.
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 08:23 PM
You reported that Stephen Garcia was selected to play in the Army All-American Bowl and he hadn't he was nominated (as was Torry Davis from Armwood but you didn't report that). Then Torry Davis is actually SELECTED to be in the bowl game and you haven't said a word.
So far Brantley from TC, Davis from Armwood, and Thompson from Glades have been selected. I guess you are waiting to see if Garcia is selected...
Posted by: | October 22, 2006 at 10:14 PM
bogie was the better team on friday and northeast out coached bogie to take the win
Posted by: | October 23, 2006 at 09:04 AM
10:14, go to the Hillsboro blog. Noone here cares about your teams
Posted by: | October 23, 2006 at 09:36 AM
There is only one blog for the times area.
This is probably the only place to try and get a writer to look at what they are doing or not doing. The pro-Jefferson thing has just about gotten out of control.
The times didn't even mention the numerous on-side kick attempts by Jefferson in a 68-0 rout of sickles.
They talk about Garcia's record, but fail to not that he only has big games against the worst teams. Take Leto and Sickles off of his season and he has nothing...

What went on at the Gulf - Trinity Catholic game that Trinity won 60-0?
Apparently, Gulf laid dead for the game. Why did Gulf schedule them if they didn't want to play them?
Posted by: | October 23, 2006 at 12:12 PM
Gulf is supposed to be this big time playoff bound team with a D1 QB and what do they do when they play a REAL big time playoff bound team with an actual D1 QB they lay down and say that their getting ready for Hudson. Well that worked last year when Hudson was stacked, this year its just a lame excuse.
Posted by: | October 23, 2006 at 02:43 PM
Bogie was and is not the better team on Friday against NEHI. Nehi started sitting starters to rest them for the big game this week. Thats when Bogie started looking only halfway decent. They were not putting together good drives they were getting lucky plays. I know sometimes lucky plays win ball games but that doesnt mean your a better team. I will give Bogie credit they fought till the end. Northeast real test is this week when two old friends bring the same offense and the same deffense at each other and say here stop this. OH yeah, well here stop this.
Northeast at Osceola
Watch this one it will be a good one
This should be the game of the week...........
Posted by: | October 23, 2006 at 06:50 PM
Please.
It doesn't matter what gulf tried or didn't try to do.
Do you realize how good trinity is?
Probably the only teams in the 3 county area that could beat them are armwood, jefferson, or plant.
They would beat anyone in Pinellas by at least 2-3 TD's.
Gulf is a decent pasco program, but let's not kid ourselves. Had Voss played they would have lost by 50 instead of 60. They did the right thing by keeping him out with his knee banged up. I know hudson sucks, but this is the biggest game in gulf high history.

I played vs Ocala Trinity Catholic when at I was at Gulf and I've seen Jefferson, Armwood, and Plant play...and I've watched Pinellas teams play and I dont care what gameplan you have for the Trnity Catholic team it prolly would not work they are the real deal and are 1 of the best teams in the state....Gulf played Alton Voss last year and he went 6-13 57 yards and had -13 yards rushing that team can shut down great players....and their offense is more explosive then any team around this 3 county area...I would pay good money to see a team around here beat them with the exception of Lakeland who would beat anyone in the state and the nation .Ocala Trnity Catholic players showed us how they prepare for us and each player has a inch thick packet on the team they are playing and they know what position you play ...how big you are....When we went up there to play them they knew our whole playbook and under each players name had their strength's and weakness ....I don't know what team's prepare like that but I dont think anyone around here does and you can't run plays when they already know what you are doing.

Andy-hello from a former gulf high player. I graduated in 89.
I hope to be at the hudson game.

Clearwater dominant. 3-5 is not dominant that just sucks. Congrats to them for winning a hard fought game but dont come on here spewing off at the mouth that your now all of a sudden the best team in the county. You had all season to prove that and you failed try again next year. Tell clearwater to enjoy that Dunedin win as they will have a nice comfy seat at Dunedin memorial stadium in 3 weeks to watch the *district champs* in a *home* *playoff* game. See you next year thanks for making us sweat and PHUH wont stand a chance after this letdown.
Posted by: | October 24, 2006 at 11:06 AM
Oh Dun Dun, have you forgotten, there is a game Friday with The Canes. Wat you guys gonna b doin after that loss?
Posted by: | October 24, 2006 at 01:41 PM
It wont be a loss i can gaurantee PHUH dont know what's about to hit them. We got some frustration to take off
Posted by: | October 24, 2006 at 10:27 PM
Frustration come from the game or your coaches?
Posted by: | October 25, 2006 at 01:35 PM
From the game. We blame our selves and we will make up for it.
Posted by: | October 25, 2006 at 02:17 PM
