Lecanto boys basketball team earns first district title in school history, goes 20-1 against Class 4A teams, falling to Orlando Bishop Moore in the region semifinals.
Citrus boys and girls golf teams both qualify for state for second consecutive year.
Despite finishing the regular season 3-9 in the district, Lecanto wins 5-4 over No. 1 seed Belleview in the Class 4A-6 title game.
Citrus' Jon Bolin coaches the 'Canes in their second straight playoff run (20-9) in baseball.
School board discusses steroid and other drug testing is discussed for student athletes but ultimately votes against it.

· Taylor Cooke, Lecanto swimmer, a four-time state qualifier signs with Florida Gulf Coast Fort Myers

· Citrus Krystal Boardman softball signs with PHCC
· Lecanto Nick Norton signed cross country/track scholarship to Division II Queens University of Charlotte.
· Lecanto centerfielder Sam King signs softball scholarship at Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina
· Two Citrus seniors, Ashley Hoglund and Chris Bender, have orally committed to LaGrange, a Division III school in Georgia
· Richard Chaney, Lecanto 1,000+ yard rusher goes to Concordia U, a Division III program in River Forest , Ill.
· Lecanto seniors Tara Haddock and Eddie Buckley traded in their prom dress and tuxedo for college jerseys for college basketball programs - Haddock to Division II Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale Division III Oglethorpe University Atlanta
· Mychal Nichols, Lecanto guard who averaged 18 points and eight assists signs with Division II Eckerd College.
