Tp_255311_garn_ndongo_7 For Calvary Christian's first-ever trip to the region basketball finals, the Warriors will pay tribute to the legendary sports movie, "Hoosiers."

The players and their families plan to meet up at one of their houses Friday evening for a potluck before they watch the classic, a film about a small-town Indiana high school basketball team winning the state championship in the 1950s.

Then, en route to the game at Bradenton Christian, there will likely be close to 40-50 cars (some painted) following the team's shuttle bus down 275......

Cheesy? Yeah, probably. But for the Warriors, who are making their first ever trip to the region finals, they're going to try to soak it all in....

The game will be a rematch of a game last month, when CC beat Bradenton Christian by 16 points (67-51).

BC is a tough team, with a star forward, 6-foot-9 senior D.J. Magley. Magley will muscle inside with Calvary's bigs - 6-7 Christian bibi Ndongo and 6-9 Kevin Cantinol (Mississippi).

"It'll be a battle," Calvary Christian senior guard Brian Horrach said. "It should be a great atmosphere with the fans and everything."

Stay tuned. I'll post a full scouting report sometime tomorrow on Charlotte (Punta Gunda), the team Lakewood will play in Saturday's 5A region final.

CC IS AN EXCELLENT TEAM. I BELIEVE THEY HAVE A GREAT CHANCE TO GO ALL THE WAY. IVE WATCHED THEM IN A COUPLE GAME AND THERE BIG MEN REALLY CAN TAKE OVER A GAME. THEY PLAY A HALF COURT MAN TO MAN AND DONT EVER PRESS. THEY HAVE AN OLD SCHOOL BOBBY KNIGHT STYLE OF PLAY.

Andrew is one of there best players he is solid all around. christian is another outstanding player who will be much better than i could ever be. Kevin is a rock solid player who i like to call personaly "Big Nasty". They all play as a team and get the W. I will personaly go to see them this weekend, so keep an eye out for me i might jus ball a few players when im there

The only reason calvary has a chance is because they are in 1A CLASS! they had a chance to beat some 5A teams and could do it cantinol was shut down as well as BIBI NDONGO....specifically speaky about the ppark game...ppark has one big man who is a lot SMALLER than cantinol and he was held to just 3 points i believe so they may when in 1A thats ALL!!!!!

good one cam

Those were good time, too bad none other teams from pinellas county got this far... this season was just showing everyone that P county got some bball.

P.S.
By the way p-park got out because of Dunedin... that was hilarious!!
