Central's Harris Wins Three Regional Titles
Central sprinter/jumper DuJuan "Foxx" Harris turned in a dynamite performance at the Class 3A, Region 2 meet at Astronaut High in Titusville Thursday.
The Bears senior won the 100, 200 and long jump while placing second in the triple jump to qualify for states in four events.
It was the most competition Harris has faced all season, with five opponents entering the meet with 100 times of under 11 seconds. But after a disappointing second-place finish in the triple jump, Harris had all the motivation he needed for the 100 and the 200.
"Foxx always seems to rise," Central coach Eric Milholland said. "Whenever there is competition, he seems to rise a little higher."
Harris is believed to be the first athlete in modern Hernando County history to win three regional titles.
