Softball showdowns: Pinellas vs Hillsborough

The results of Friday's region softball semis have set up a few interesting showdowns Tuesday for region championships.

There are some of the best in Pinellas County (Countryside, Palm Harbor) facing some of Hillsborough's best (Chamberlain and Gaither).

Countryside will play district rival Gaither for the fourth time this season; Gaither won two of the three meetings, including a close victory in the district title game, partly thanks to an illegal pitch.

PHU is coming off a hitting clinic, pounding out 17 hits in beating Seminole 16-2 on Friday. They're clicking on all cylinders, but the Hurricanes will run into likely their toughest test yet in Chamberlain, ranked in the top 5 nearly all season in the state rankings...

Which teams - and county - will come out on top?
