DADE CITY -- This is what happens when you have great faith in your kid.
Belleview dad Jim Smith agreed to shave his head if Belleview won a district title. Who knows what he would have done if Pasco hadn't defeated the Rattlers by a score of 8-3 in a Class 4A region semifinal Friday. His daughter, Leigha, asked him to keep the Mohawk. Anything for his little girl.
The Pirates along with Land O'Lakes advanced to Tuesday's region final round.
Pasco will host Groveland South Lake, which knocked Zephyrhills out of the playoffs behind the arm of Shaina Dent. And the Gators, after an 18-1 win Friday against Winter Park Lake Howell, travel to Newsome.
