Ex-Knight Honored By Army
Former Robinson High baseball standout Milan Dinga was among three recipients of the United States Military Academy's highest athletic honor presented this afternoon.
Dinga, the top closer in Army history and owner of six offensive school records, was presented the Army Athletic Association Trophy. The honor is given annually to the top male and female cadet who display the "most valuable service to intercollegiate athletics during a career as a cadet."
Dinga, who shared the male honor with baseball teammate Nick Hill, converted a school- and Patriot League-record 27 career saves, including 23 in a row at one point. He was scored upon only once in both his junior and senior seasons.
Offensively, the 2003 Robinson graduate posted a career .334 batting average with 34 doubles, 14 home runs and 139 RBI. He finished his career as the Patriot League's alltime leader in hits (257), total bases (363) and runs (165).
This year marks the 103rd anniversary of the AAA Trophy.
