I belive Osceola will get the best of Dixie Hollins. Everyone thinks that all of Osceola's talent has left since last season. That may be true, but Osceola has redeveloped there squad and has Alot of new talent moving up.My prediction on Friday's game, 14-10- Osceola over Dixie.
~Thanks

East Lake has already had their running back commit to vandy. Largo is good, but anyone can be upset.
Posted by: | August 31, 2007 at 07:42 AM
Okay, since I cant find another thread on this, I must say the Times has attempted to up their game with all of these new on-line features and stuff, no doubt.
Then Friday rolls around, and they only do team previews for just over half the county teams. No previews for the following teams is frankly irresponsible reporting:
Admiral Farragut
Clearwater
Gibbs
Indian Rocks
Lakewood
Osceola
Palm Harbor
Pinellas Park
Seminole
Shorecrest
Then not to mention some of the school's write-ups look eerily familiar to the exact same write-up you did on them in spring. Just when I am about to give kudos, you show your tail. Poor job guys!!
Posted by: | August 31, 2007 at 08:17 AM
You are right this was the cheapest high school write ups yet. POOR JOB..

Bogie will lose.
Palm Harbor with the upset.
Pinellas Park sucks!
Largo wins big.
Lakewood wins in an ugly one.
Seminole couldn't beat a JV squad.
Posted by: Nicholae | August 31, 2007 at 08:57 AM
You know gregor, there probably are some people who care about the privates. I mean, if I payed $20K per year so my son could play private school football because I knew he would never see PT at a public school, I would care.

The Falcons and Pirates game will be the best game this week. The Pirates have Jouhnson at QB and the Falcons have Towns at DB. Both teams is loaded with a lot talent around these star players which make for one exciting game. I think Dunedin will win because of coaching.
Posted by: High School Fan | August 31, 2007 at 09:25 AM
the Falcons "might win but it will not be because of coaching there coach is a nice guy but is a horrible coach you can stop 2 Rodriguez and Davis as being good coches in north county the rest of them NOT.
Posted by: B 4 REal | August 31, 2007 at 09:46 AM
B 4 REal Dunedin coach Everett turn the Dunedin program around when they were horrible. Yes he do have good talent but all of the south team has good talent and what do they do with it. He is a winner, so you need to be for real.

East Lake will take Largo down to the wire.
Posted by: | August 31, 2007 at 11:40 AM
I play for Dixie Hollins my name is Troy Hubbard I wear #72 and I play OL/DL I'm 223 and 5'11 and I'm in the 11th. We have alot of talent this year on our squad like Jafar Frott,Josh Brown,Kenny G.,and Jaron Cole. I perdict a win by my squad Dixie 27-7.
Posted by: Troy Hubbard | August 31, 2007 at 12:24 PM
It's apparent that you don't know alot about football. So you keep running your mouth. There are a few public sch. boys right now sitting on the BENCH.AT PRIVATE SCHOOLS BECAUSE OF THEIR SO-CALL ABILITIES.

clearwater over seminloe by a big score
Posted by: #20 | August 31, 2007 at 12:49 PM

Posted by: | August 31, 2007 at 03:21 PM
Troy Hubbard is a clown.
East Lake will not beat Largo.
End of story.

Anyone knoe who won the Gibbs Vs. Lakewood game???
Posted by: India | August 31, 2007 at 09:21 PM
Um Coach Dub
if they are public school boys, how are they on the team at a private school. Correct me if i'm wrong, but once they enroll they're all private school kids. Which makes their lack of talent a private school problem- well probably not much of one since they pay so much $$$$$$$
Enjoy your season coach
Posted by: Dorkly Von Douche | August 31, 2007 at 10:04 PM
how about those pirates no one ever gives boca ciega the credit the should get, they have not much of a coaching staff, but have so much talent to overcome the bad coaching.
Posted by: | August 31, 2007 at 10:35 PM
Largo beats East Lake
20-0
Posted by: | August 31, 2007 at 11:00 PM
Bogie is very talented.
Posted by: ETC | August 31, 2007 at 11:02 PM
Well Osceola beat Dixie 14-12. I know it doesn't mean much, but it does prove that we can still play football without last years team. This is a great way to keep spirits up in our camp.

Just decided to roll down to fort meade today to watch the game.... nothing like watching a perenial power house take on a semi decent private school team.... well if you enjoy watching future college stars take on future engineers.... shorecrest could hardly engineer a drive.... first drive was promising however..... went three and out only to fake punt(so i guess it wasnt three and out) then on the next three plays did absolutely nothing....
if one thing positive can be taken from this game for shorecrest it was there punting.... not one blocked and there punter number 67.... Carino???? well he didnt look half bad on his 7 chances.... 40 yard average.... some one earned a scholarship tonight as a punter....
yes it was ugly

Here we go again, when will Seminole play one of the county,s best down hill runners??? At lest try to win," NO" he sits on the bench tell the fouth qtr and get a tip pass for 10yrds. Lets be real we have no chance if we donot have the best players on the field. The kids try hard at seminole to win let's give them a fair chance we have a runningback that gets 109yrs on the ground but was tried and could not punch it in. We need fresh legs out there!!. Yes Harvey maybe the best runningback in the county but this kid is a good second the write up in every paper states this is true.So seminole let's kick Dunedin BUTT!!! GO WARHAWKS!!
Posted by: Mad Fan | September 03, 2007 at 11:00 AM
tha only reson oceala beat dixe was because tha turn overs n we almost beat them playin our worst wen they were at there best so tht shuld tell u shumthin in this fri wen they play northeast one demensional offence relyin on there runin back i bet cole puts him on his back
Posted by: austin | September 03, 2007 at 02:10 PM
You are crazy if you think Northeast is only relying on their running back. He is the best in the bay area though.
They got a transfer from Miami who no one knows about yet. The only reason they did not throw against st.pete is becaus they didnt have to. Sanchez can throw the Ball further than anyone in the bay area. He may not be the most accurate but who cares he is a linbacker first. Besides the backup is a better qb anyway.
Posted by: Mike C. | September 03, 2007 at 02:23 PM
haha the real reason osceola beat dixie is because we are a down right better team and we dominated the line on both sides of the ball...you cant blame it on turnovers especially when we had more than dixie did
Posted by: #44 | September 03, 2007 at 03:43 PM
Osceola beating dixie was a fluke. Why dixie did not try to pass the ball more is a mystery. The biggest question I have, is why dixie ran up the middle on the two point conversion attempt. dixie could not gain a year up the middle all night.
osceola don't get over confident. you probably won't win another game this year. clearwater is going to spank you by 25 this week. it won't be long until fire george plamer . com is up and running.
osceola sucks!

Mike C. How long did Brinson play? Did they leave him in the 4th quarter?
Posted by: | September 04, 2007 at 09:33 AM
Brinson only played the first few plays of the 4th quarter.
Posted by: | September 04, 2007 at 04:01 PM
Well, looking back over the past week I guess all of you that had Bogie losing were wrong. In fact, I would say that they were well prepared so maybe the coaches down there might know what they are doing after all.
Just ask Bellamy. If Johnson didn't have a tough game the score would have probably been 50-13.
We'll see how it goes.
Posted by: | September 06, 2007 at 07:50 AM
we make do with what the system gives us. considering our public schools are so sub-par.
Posted by: coachdub | September 09, 2007 at 01:18 AM
Coaches do not play football they only send in the plays. don't blame the coaches when a play doesn't work. remember players make the plays.
