Jenkins injury not as bad as first feared

Turns out Wesley Chapel quarterback Greg Jenkins suffered a "really bad bruise" and not a seperated shoulder as first feared, his mother Sharon Jenkins said late Monday afternoon.
Greg Jenkins visited a doctor Monday and had his right (throwing) shoulder looked at after a vicious hit knocked him out of Friday's 24-17 loss to Zephyrhills in the first series. An X-Ray revealed no bones were broken or out of place. The doctor didn't say whether or not Jenkins could practice or play this week, but Jenkins, his mother and Coach John Castelamare have said he will not play against Wharton.
However, it appears likely he will be back next week.
Read more about Jenkins recovery in Tuesday's St. Petersburg Times.
