Patchan to announce decision Jan. 5
Armwood senior tackle Matt Patchan, one of the nation's top lineman prospects, will have to miss the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January in Texas due to mononucleosis, coach Sean Callahan said.
Callahan said Patchan will announce his college decision Jan. 5 in a news conference at a New Tampa Hotel. Patchan previously had narrowed his choices to Miami, Florida and LSU. Patchan was recently named first team All USA by USA Today.

I thought that kid went to Freedom? Oh yeah, Armwood recruits like nobody's business!!!

Wait till they finish their "football fieldhouse" to showcase for recruits. Maybe they should spend that money upgrading the quality of education

An education at Armwood? Not for football players!!!! They don't need no education....Armwood will get them in college...oh right.....you DO need an education to make it through college....

Armwood is a school of...what....2,000 kids? And they spend dollars on a facility that oh.....under 200 use....and a football stadium that is used under eight times a year......THAT makes sense....

Lay off of Armwood you idiots! They run a class program. Good players gravitate to good programs. Its a fact of life. They should work on their academic rating, but it has little to do with football.

Who was the kid you flunked out of Iowa from Armwood. Bailey. You have to actualy learn something in High school to pass course in college.

Yes, that is right Jonah....football these days has little to do with school....which is not a good thing. Many kids would be in college now if they, and their coaches had paid more attention to their academics instead of letting that slide and glorifying their athletic exploits. A high school football career isn't worth much if you don't have the grades, or learned anything...and you spend your time flipping burgers or drawing Welfare...

A New Tampa Hotel? That's right, he still lives in Freedom's attendance zone with a fake address for Armwood.

Those are serious accusations (about having a fake address). Don't post that kind of stuff on here unless you are willing to back it up, chump.

hey 11:18 doesn't he have a younger brother still going to a middle school(Liberty) that is in Freedom's attendance zone. There you go chump Daddy.

From Rivals-
Patchan planned to make his college destination public January 5th during the game. While the date has remained the same, the location has changed.
He will now make his announcement at the clubhouse located inside his development community.
"I'm going to do it at the clubhouse in my neighborhood. I'm not sure, but I think at 1 (p.m.)."
Is Tampa Palms in the Armwood District? The FHSAA is a joke

Maybe this was the parents giving a false address or just renting a place for a short spell to get into the district. Also, what about "school choice". This may be one of the schools he could choose under this program.
