Brinson commits to Iowa
Northeast running back Jeff Brinson, one of Pinellas County's top recruits, orally committed to Iowa.
"(Iowa) just seemed right for me," Brinson said. "It has a good mix of academics and athletics."
Brinson made his decision Dec. 28 after talking it over with his mother. He turned down offers from more than 30 other Div. I schools and is in the process of canceling visits to Florida and Kansas. This season, Brinson was a Times first-team, all-county selection after rushing for more than 1,900 yards and leading the Vikings to a runnerup finish in Class 4A, District 9.
