How in the world is Plant even ranked? They are not one of the top teams in that county. I know they couldnt last in pinellas.

i agree with you Girls Hoops Fanatic we will just have to see they are a good team but can they prove it by beating the two most overrated teams in the county.......

the team that wins is not necessarily always the better team. there have been teams that have lost to weaker teams when they should have won.

All these could of/should of/if they had been playing etc about TC are excuses of a team with less ability. If they were good enough they would of, but they were not! Bogie could have beaten SPC--BUT THEY DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!! So, who is the better team? Clue...the team that wins!

hey joe it is true TC got beat pretty good by SPC but they can beat them. TC could have very well beaten Boca Ciega. If you didnt know they were only down by 4 at the half. They could have beat that team if it had not been for a coaching mistake and had their players been playing their A game.

Side note
Plant shouldnt be on this list at all.

St. Pete defeated Northside by 19 or so and Academy by 12. They lost to SPC 42-37. Their quality wins this year include Lakewood 52-49, Sickles 57-55, and Mitchell. They still have Boca Ciega and Clearwater on their schedule and those games will certainly show where they belong.

SP High lost to St Pete Catholic in the tournament and beat Plant and AHN. AHN is in a down year, and Plant let up 50 to the same Wharton team that Clearwater let up 1 to.

Also, you listed some impressive teams that were in that tournament but failed to mention who ST. Pete high actually defeated. Just because there are good teams in a tournament doesn't mean they played any of them...other than SPC. Just answer me this. Who did they beat in their two tournaments.

Good answer.....but that's one tournament.....what did they do in their other tournament?

Joe- Good question. They played in the same tournament that St. Pete Catholic, Northside Christian, and PLant played in, the Jaguar Holiday Tournament at Academy of Holy Names. Those three are ranked in their respective classes. The tournament also had Clearwater, Academy of Holy Names, and Freedom. St. Pete HIgh went 2-1 and finished third. Their only loss was to St. Pete Catholic in which they held SPC to their lowest point total of the year. They have 4 losses this season and they have avenged two of those four losses by beating Sickles and MItchell the second time around. Since November 27 they are 11-1. Just some facts.

St. Pete High should be listed......however, what tournament's did they play in that really pushed the envelope to get their names out?

where's st. pete on the 6a polls

Keswick should be in the top 5 in 2A. Oh well, they will just have to continue to prove with thier play and win...a good game this Saturday at Keswick vs Norhtside.

Go Keswick!!

Tampa Catholic? They get run by every good team they play.........see SPC/Bogie results.

How about Tampa Catholic???

where's clearwater?

wheres clearwater?

Another great showing by the area teams. But I have to wonder how Plant is higher than Boca Ciega and Clearwater doesn't even appear in the poll? St. Pete High goes from having one vote in the last poll to no votes, and the only loss they have had in the time is to St. Pete Catholic which is an outstanding team. The Florida Sports Writers Association should probably do better homework if they are going to try and put together a poll that is inconsistent to say the least.
