Keeping up with Kalvin Bailey

Kalvin_2Former Armwood star Kalvin Bailey has two decisions to make:

1. Which position to play in the future
2. Which college to attend

For Bailey, a sophomore running back at College of the Siskiyous in California, the answer to No. 1 will help determine the answer to No. 2. At Armwood, Bailey (6-foot, 240 pounds) was an all-state fullback who led the Hawks to consecutive state titles and claimed the Guy Toph Award. But now, he’s giving serious thought to playing tailback.

“He wants to carry the football,” College of the Siskiyous head coach Eric Young said.

Bailey originally signed with Iowa after graduating from Armwood in 2005. He struggled academically, however, and later resurfaced at College of the Siskiyous, which is located in northern California.

“He has done a nice job for us taking care of his academics,” Young said. “He’s ready to transfer with his associate’s degree.”

Bailey, who rushed for 363 yards and four touchdowns in 2007, has scholarship offers from a number of Division I-AA schools, Young said. He also has interest from I-A programs such as Auburn, Cal and Ole Miss.

“He’s still fairly open,” Young said.

Another fine example of Armwood academics.

You are an idiot!! It is not an example of Armwood, this is a typical issue with many college and amateur sports. The focus is not one of JUST athletics but athletics AND academics. You obviously have not participated in two activities at once.
Next time try playing your D & D game and your favorite X-Box game at the same time and you will see that you still do not have a girlfriend (or Boyfriend) sitting next to you.
Idiot!!
