Riverview hoops player arrested
Riverview High boys basketball player Montrael Albury was arrested Tuesday at the school for possession of a weapon on school property, according to an arrest report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff Department.
There were two Riverview students arrested, three involved overall. The report states Albury, 19, had in possession knife and a BB gun. He was released on $2,000 bond.
School district spokesperson Linda Cobbe said all three students will receive a mandatory, 10-day suspension, and for a student in the situation like Albury (caught with knife and BB gun), the recommendation by the area director is typically a change in placement.
Cobbe said a teacher saw one student waving a toy gun in his car in the school parking lot. Administrators searched the car and found the BB gun and knife. Cobbe said they weren't using the weapons and to her knowledge there were no pellets in the BB gun.
Albury averages 4 points per game for the Sharks, which are 2-7. Messages left for Riverview boys basketball coach Mike Baker and the Hillsborough County School District were not immediately returned.

If the administrators and coachs at this level would do whats right and make them follow all rules it might not be so hard for them to follow them at the next level. Stop making excuses for these kids and make them accountable for their actions and help them learn to responsible

Weapons charges - Wow! He had an empty BB gun, how utterly terrifying! I'm thankful that the watchful school administration was able to protect us from such terrible and dangerous activity!
