Ex-Plant star Kirkwood wins ACC honor

Virginia's Sarah Kirkwood, the former Plant High star, has been chosen as the ACC scholar-athlete of the year for volleyball. To be eligible, candidates had to have maintained a 3.0 GPA for their career as well as a 3.0 during the last two semesters. Kirkwood, a senior majoring in cognitive science and pre-med, was a Rhodes Scholar finalist.
