Jefferson commitments

Tp_273250_free_hil_jefferso Jefferson senior quarterback Zack Grossi signed with Division II power California University of Pennsylvania. Grossi visited the campus over the weekend and coaches told him if he redshirted for a year he could compete for a starting spot in the second season. Grossi also received interest from Charleston Southern and New Hampshire.

His teammate, receiver Lester Lewis, committed to Eastern Kentucky. Offensive lineman Sebastian Cadavid is finalizing paperwork to attend Princeton through a prep school. Receiver Darrell Young will go to Garden City Junior College in Kansas, en route to Middle Tennessee. Running back Jamil Crews is finalizing paperwork to play for Bucknell.

Grossi was the county's second leading passer last fall. He had the unenviable task of having to replace highly touted QB Stephen Garcia, who’s now at South Carolina.

CalulogoFor awhile, it looked as if Colorado State would offer Grossi a scholarship. But that opportunity was lost after longtime Rams coach Sonny Lubic decided to resign.
