Lazar is on fire

DADE CITY - Pasco earned a come-from-behind 4-1 victory against tenacious Nature Coast on Thursday night. The big story - yes, you've heard it all before - is Pirates junior Colena Lazar. The talented southpaw collected a season-high 15 strikeouts and hit the game-winning double in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 2-1 lead. Lazar's private pitching Kaci Clark, who went undefeated as a pitcher in UCLA's 1995 national title run, also attended the game.
The big test for Pasco, which reached the Class 4A state title game last season, will come next week with four games in five nights including matchups with Springsstead on Wednesday and at Zephyrhills on Friday.
