Tampa Prep guard wins 3-point shootout

Ayala Wasser, a junior guard at Tampa Prep, won the Class 2A 3-point shootout Friday afternoon at The Lakeland Center. The winners from each class will compete for the overall title Saturday night.

Wasser, who advanced through district and regional competition to reach state, made 10 3-pointers in 15 attempts. Friday's effort was her best to date.

“I was nervous,” Wasser said. “But once I started, I just concentrated on shooting.”

Wasser averaged 18 points a game this season for the Terrapins.
