As offers come for Giles, he's wide open

91_action Gaither running back Jarvis Giles is receiving scholarship offers from near and far. His latest, received this week, came from Boston College.

That makes nine D-I offers for the 6-foot-1, 180-pound running back. He has also received offers from Florida State, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, N.C. State, USF, UCF and FIU, Gaither coach Mark Kantor said. Kantor said Giles doesn't currently have a favorite.

“He’s wide open right now,” Kantor said.

Giles, who is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons for the Cowboys, has drawn interest with his speed, but Kantor said he’s been a deceptively strong runner.

“He’s just a great all-around back,” he said. “I hope the offers keep coming. A lot of his yards came between the tackles. For a kid with his speed, you would this he took a lot of tosses, but he’s a very hard runner."

Kantor said Giles plans to narrow down his schools this spring.
