Plant alum not so Marvelous in UM spring game

1s1zvcaol1rhyca60o5ifcaeee1iuca80wjPlant grad Robert Marve had a so-so performance at best today in the Miami Hurricanes' annual spring game. Now for the good news: His chief rival for the Canes' starting QB spot was equally mediocre. According to numbers just posted by the Miami Herald, Marve, a redshirt freshman who led the Panthers to the Class 4A state title as a senior, was 10-of-22 passing for 93 yards and two interceptions. True freshman Jacory Harris (Miami Northwestern), however, was only 9 of 17 for 64 yards. Miami coach Randy Shannon said earlier this week the team likely wouldn't pick a starting quarterback until August. But you have to figure a strong effort by Marve today would have helped. One was under 50%, the other was over 50%, the one who was under threw two picks, the one who was over threw none. I'd say Harris clearly won this round.

A little more on Marve's picks ...

-The first went off a defensive lineman's helmet.
-The second was on a Hail Mary.

Hell he cant do any worst then our last UM quaterback

I was at the game on the sidelines. Robert had several balls dropped that were 1st downs. When Nix moved him out of the pocket, he was very accurate and quick. The offensive play calling was very vanilla. You could see the difference in the huddle when he was in the game. The kid is a leader with all the intangibles. He'll win the job. Nix has to learn how to use his strengths and not be afraid to throw the ball down the field.
