Armwood alum fights for PT at VMI
Question: Who were the starting quarterbacks in the 2005 Class 4A state football final?
Answer: Tim Tebow (Ponte Vedra Beach Nease) and Justin Hickman (Armwood).
It's safe to say we all know what happened to Tebow, so here's an update on Hickman, who graduated a year after his counterpart in that game, which Nease won 44-37. He's now a redshirt freshman at VMI, where he finds himself in a fight for playing time under center. And according to reports out of spring camp, it looks like he could find the field this fall. In the Keydets' most recent scrimmage, Hickman rushed for 29 yards on four carries and completed five of seven passes for 56 yards. VMI is coached by Sparky Woods, who once was coach at South Carolina.

Congrats to Justin and great to here about the "other" Quaterback! One of the most underrated Quaterbacks ever to come through this county.

You are so right Mr. Davis. Glad to hear he is doing well. The first year was a tough one and you did it!! Way to go Justin!

Hickman also survived VMI's dreaded and brutal "Rat Line".....constant straining (a painful position of attention), sweat parties, 900 upperclassmen screaming in your face 24/7 all while dealing with real academic courses.
Tebow doesn't know what adversity is.
