At least another week on Genovesi conclusion

The county school district’s continuing investigation into Robinson baseball coach Brandon Genovesi won’t be completed until at least April 14, a district spokesperson said Friday.

Genovesi met with the Office of Professional Standards on Thursday and the office has statements from students who said they witnessed a physical confrontation between Genovesi and a student in class on Monday. But with the district on spring break next week, nothing will be completed until the following week, district spokesperson Linda Cobbe said.

“And I would be surprised if anything happened then,” she said.

That means interim coach Rudy Granda will coach the Knights throughout next week’s Saladino Tournament.

Cobbe also told the Times there is nothing in Genovesi’s  professional standards file, which means the Office of Professional Standards never investigated him in the past.
