Hillsborough OL has big programs interested
For the most part, Hillsborough offensive lineman Darren Baker has flown under the recruiting radar. But that probably is about to change.
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Baker, a two-year starter at tackle for the Terriers, told the Times on Thursday he has received strong interest from USF, Kansas and LSU and is under the impression a scholarship offer could be coming from one of them very soon.
"USF told me they like me a lot," Baker said.
Does Baker have Division I-A talent?
"Yes," said his former Hillsborough teammate, Moses McCray, who will play for Florida State this fall. "He's a real good pass blocker. He just needs to keep working hard."
Baker said his goals during the next few months are to improve his GPA, get stronger and add a little weight.

I wish this kid the best, but let's see...improve GPA, get stronger, and gain weight...that prety much describes every player from grades 9-12 in Hillsborough county. Garcia, stop using your kids to highlight your program and educate them on the recruiting process. What school is going to tell a kid they they don't like him. If they "like" him they offer him, and I hope he has many offers but until then- Garcia, much like your Reebok deal that other schools in the county have had for years, stop graping for a headline and instead maybe teach your own son how not to be a coaching failure.

Just an FYI --- I got none of that from Garcia ... In fact, he had no idea I had written this brief until I ran into him today during lunch.
