Vols visit Holy Names
In town for the Women's Final Four, legendary coach Pat Summitt and the Tennessee Volunteers needed a place to practice. The Academy of the Holy Names was more than glad to help them out. The school hosted a Vols workout Friday morning, and it was thrilled to do so.
"Coach Summitt and the Tennessee team were very gracious," AHN athletic director Pete Young said. "They came over to the side after practice and talked to our girls. The girls were beside themselves they were so excited."
The arrangement between the parties was finalized Thursday.
"They were amazing," Young said. "They were bending over backwards to say how grateful they were."
AHN will receive no fee for the use of its gym. But that didn't seem to bother Young.
"Are you kidding me?" he said. "It's an honor."
