Joyer a standout at combine
Wesley Chapel junior Kamran Joyer spent the weekend participating at
the Nike Camp at the University of Florida. The 6-foot-2, 310-pound
lineman showed a powerful display pancake blocking several of the
state's top high school linemen. Recruiting has slowed down, but Joyer
has sharpened his focus to mainly SEC schools though he did visit a USF
practice last week and liked what he saw. Joyer still lists Tennessee
as his No. 1 school followed by Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
Michigan also has popped up in recent weeks and several Division I
schools plan to send staff members to Wesley Chapel's spring practice,
which begin May 5, his father Jack Joyer said. One school no longer in
the picture is Notre Dame.
Joyer plans to make an oral commitment by the end of May.

If Joyer is wearing Helmet and Shoulder pads at a camp recently it is COMPLETELY illegal per FHSAA rules. Remember this is "off-season" not summer., so I would have to agree that the "pancake" info must have come from a biased source.

Wharton always produces solid athletes so that's no surprise. No matter how good the Pasco teams in that district are in any one season Wharton and Gaither usually come out on top. That said, Land O'Lakes certainly gave those teams some fits.

Wesley Chapel plays Wharton? I want to see his brother go head to head with this kid who will be at Wharton next year as a freshman who will most likely end up on Varsity. He is a tailback who will be a beast. I will put anything that he doubles Hunters yards. His name is Justis.

His brother is like a battering ram. He's all muscle. A lot of Kamran's decision will be based on whether or not Hunter - two classes younger - will have an opportunity to land a scholarship when it's his time. Hunter plays fullback meaning he would prefer to play at a university that will utilize him for more than simply blocking. Remember, Hunter is just a freshman so plenty could change during the next three seasons.

Is his brother any good at football?

He has received offers from Tennessee and South Carolina. And Urban Meyer came to Wesley Chapel to visit him in person.

This kid is big and strong but seems to be a little soft from what is seen on film. Also heard that he does not have any offers to date but rather just interest? Is this true

Yes, his brother Hunter is solid and a strong weightlifter.
Mr. Kitchell, you don't think you can pancake block someone with helmets and pads?
Posted by: Izzy Gould | April 15, 2008 at 08:00 AM
how do you pancake block people at a no-pads no-helmets combine? I guess that was reported by his dad too.
