A new offer for McAllister (stop us if you've heard this before)

First, Florida State offered Alonso defensive tackle Demonte McAllister a scholarship. Then Florida and Miami followed suit. Most Southeastern Conference schools soon joined the club. And as you've probably heard by now, Southern California recently got into the mix.

UmWell, now you can add Michigan to the list.

The Wolverines offered the 6-foot-3, 260-pound rising senior earlier today.

Will it be too late? That's the question. McAllister plans to announce his five finalists in a few weeks.

If he decides on Michigan, I sure hope that he is a legitimately GOOD student...that is a tough school. But a great place to get a solid education.

I hear he's a very good student

"GOOD SCHOOL" not according to Jim Harbaugh at least not for athletes.

He has stated many times that a lot of his teammates from when he played can't get a job, because of the joke schedules that athletes are forced to take.

that is their own fault....you go into college as a young adult...time to step up and take responsibility for what you study....other athletes certainly manage to get the job done.

if you don't think that 50% of athletes on a football scholarship don't major in gen. studies or rec. and leisure then you're on something. If a player is highly touted and doesn't go to Notre Dame, Stanford, Vandy, or Duke I'd say less then half actually take real classes.

USF didn't offer?

usf offered a while ago

i went out there to alonso and watched this kid practice.... he's not that big.. but he's powerful and quick... the fastest i ever saw... i mean he can play end or inside.. he's on top of every play... this guy can make a impact any where he goes... i wouldn't be surpised to see this guy playing on sundays one day.... i wish him the best of luck!!!
