Giddins not in rush to commit
Plant quarterback Aaron Murray recently committed to Georgia. Alonso defensive tackle Demonte McAllister plans to trim his list of potential colleges to five very soon. Meantime, over at Armwood star defensive end Ryne Giddins, generally regarded as one of the area's three best prospects in the Class of 2009, is taking his time. In fact, he said Tuesday he has no favorite and has no intention of naming a leader or leaders any time soon.
"Everybody is the same right now," Giddins said.
At present time, "everybody" includes schools such as Florida, Florida State and Miami, all of which have offered scholarships. Giddins said he's "open" to any school and plans to take all of his allotted official visits this fall. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Giddins was the Times' Hillsborough Defensive Player of the Year as a junior.
