Holy Names gymnast commits to LSU

Academy of the Holy Names junior Kaleigh Dickson has accepted a scholarship to LSU, where she will be on Lsu_logo the women's gymnastics team, school athletic director Pete Young announced.

Last month, Dickson won the Level 10 Senior A all-around title at the Region 8 Gymnastics Championships in Huntsville, Ala. At the time, she had her choices narrowed down to Pittsburgh and Auburn, but LSU began recruiting her more intensively.

Dickson's all-around score of 37.975 at the Region 8 championships qualified her for the National Championships May 16-18 in Orlando. She competes for LaFleur's in Tampa.

LSU is an established program. The Tigers placed fourth in the highly competitive SEC, won the NCAA Central Regional and placed fifth in the NCAA Championships.

Ed, what kind of team do you think LSU will have next year. Can it compete with UGA or Utah?
