No. 10 to be worn once more at East Bay
Late Monday night, East Bay coach Brian Thornton said the Indians had a special tribute planned for former quarterback Rex Ballenger Jr., who died Monday from injuries sustained in a weekend car accident. At Thursday's jamboree in Brandon, Ballenger's No. 10 jersey will be worn by East Bay running back Chaz Burrows, one of the deceased player's best friends on the team.
"Hopefully that will be the last time anyone wears it (here)," Thornton said.
As we reported earlier, East Bay wants to have the number retired.

What an honor for Chaz, wear it with pride partner. Coach Thornton, who cares what the county says, stick to what you said earlier, no kid should EVER even want to wear that number again. R.I.P. REX
