St. Pete soccer coach to switch teams
St. Petersburg High girls soccer coach Rui Farias will be stepping down to take over as head coach of the Green Devils' boys team next season, according to a news release.
In 10 seasons as girls coach, Farias had a 176-39-13 record, including five district championships, three PCAC titles and one state semifinal appearance.
''It’s been an honor to coach such a hard-working, talented group of players over the years that built the girls program here at St. Pete High'' Farias said in the release. ''I look forward to the challenge of taking over the boy’s team.''
