Wharton QB earns high marks at elite camp

Clifford_2Wharton QB Andrew Clifford, expected to be among the region's top signal callers this fall, won the accuracy challenge this past weekend at the EA Sports regional Elite 11 QB camp at the University of Alabama (there are six regional camps).

"It's something all the guys participate in, so it definitely says something about a kid who wins," said Brian Stumpf, Student Sports Director of Football.

WhartonClifford, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound rising senior, has strong interest from UCF, USF and Nebraska. The Cornhuskers, while in town last week, stopped by Wharton to watch video of him.

FlaVarsity.com recently praised Clifford, calling him a player who "should have a very good chance at entering " the website's list of Florida's top 100 prospects for 2009.
