27 offers and counting for McAllister

79_demonte_mcallisterStandout Alonso defensive tackle Demonte McAllister, one of the country's most heavily recruited players in the Class of 2009, has received offer 27. And it came from the alma mater of his high school coach (Mike Heldt) -- Notre Dame.

Heldt, a former Leto standout, played center for the Fighting Irish in the late 1980s. To date, McAllister also has offers from heavyweight programs such as Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan and Southern California. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound senior-to-be hopes to have five finalists named sometime this summer. He has said FSU and USC are likely to be in that group.

The kid is a beast. I hope he picks FSU although the U might not be a bad choice. This Alonso team is gonna open some eyes this year. I heard they pummeled Sickles, the QB had a big game. The D created some turnovers and McAllister had a TD from the TE spot.

future fsu star for sure
