Freedman commits to Virginia

Clearwater Central Catholic receiver Paul Freedman orally committed to the University of Virginia on Saturday.

UvaFreedman also had offers from Duke, Florida International, Indiana and Vanderbilt.

"This was my first visit and I felt it was a great fit," Freedman said.

Freedman missed the first half of last season with a slightly separated left shoulder. He returned for the Marauders stretch run for the playoffs. In the spring game against Clearwater, he had six receptions. Freedman, a 6-foot-6 receiver, said he will be converted into a tight end in college.

CCC has yet another outstanding D-1 commit. Congrats Paul.

Congrats Paul on your oral committemnt to UVA. They're getting a good player and a fine young man.

CCC should be proud of the continuing placement of student/athletes to D-1 schools. Last year Harvard, Brown, Duke, Florida, South Florida and the Naval Academy to name just a few of the schools that will have Marauders on their rosters.

ya they got the name right but something they didnt get right is his height in the commit list, they have him as 6' 3''. im with 12:48 on this.

that is the way his name is spelled. with his size and other skills he is a perfect fit for uva he should blossom in that system. congrats paul, well deserved.

as they say, you cant teach height.
