Giddins has six favorites; just don't ask who

GiddinsArmwood defensive end Ryne Giddins (left), who made the Rivals.com top-100 prospect list for the Class of 2009 earlier this week, said Wednesday he has six favorites. But he won't name them until early July.

"I've got to know if they're the right schools," Giddins said.

Who might be on his list? Well, thus far Giddins has scholarship offers from schools such as Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Illinois, LSU, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Southern California, Tennessee, UCF and USF.

Ryne2One school hasn't offered that Giddins hopes will: Texas. If the Longhorns were to pull the trigger, they likely would become one of his favorites, Giddins said.

"I'm waiting on Texas," Giddins said. "I want Texas. They haven't talked to me one time. Their defense is hard-nosed and I feel I could fit in there real good."

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Giddins was rated 98th in the Rivals.com top 100.
