Lattimore happy with offers, but not content
With scholarship offers from Ball State, Miami of Ohio and Middle Tennessee State, Justin Lattimore knows he's in a can't-lose situation. That said, the standout Gaither tight end/defensive end is hopeful more Division I-A programs will pull the trigger.
"I'm going to be patient and see what comes along," Lattimore said. "I'm satisfied with what I have, but if more come along, that's good and I'd be even happier."
A two-year starter at Gaither, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound Lattimore is one of Hillsborough County's most versatile players. Ball State and Miami are recruiting him to play tight end; Middle Tennessee State projects him as a defensive end.
Georgia, Illinois, Memphis, UAB and USF also have shown interest. Lattimore will camp at USF this weekend, then at Georgia next month. That latter is one he's particularly excited about.
"I want to make it up to camp and show them what I have," Lattimore said. "Playing for a (Southeastern Conference) team has been one of my dreams growing up."
