Perez shining at Reebok All-American Camp

Perez_2 Playing in front of the likes of Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, Memphis’ John Calipari and Florida’s Billy Donovan, Oldsmar Christian guard Chris Perez recently got a chance to display his skills at the Reebok All-American Camp. The weeklong event (July 6-10) in Philadelphia features 150 of the top high school basketball prospects in the country along with nearly every major Division-I head basketball coach in attendance, making the camp one of the best avenues to gain recruiting exposure.

Perez, a second-team all-state (Class 1A) selection who averaged 29.5 points a game this past season for the Eagles, was ranked one of the top ten shooting guards during the camp by Hoop Scoop according to Oldsmar coach Ryan Pannone.

“Tracy McGrady came to this camp unknown and left as the No. 1 player in the country,” Pannone said. “This camp is the most important basketball event in any player’s basketball career. They’ll play in front of more college coaches that week than they will their entire high school career.”

A 6-foot-4 senior-to-be, Perez holds D-I scholarships from Old Miss, Delaware, James Madison and Tennessee Tech among others. He said he’s trying to garner as many scholarship offers as he can before making a decision, which he admits is wide-open right now.

“I want to see how I do at the camp and the rest of the summer before I commit,” he said. “It might be at the end of summer, it might not be until after my senior season at Oldsmar. I’ll do it when I feel the time is right.”

I have seen him play and he is garbage. Any good player in the county or state could stay with him. Just because he plays at oldsmar chr. Go to a big school and play with the big boys and see what you get out of that

thats real big of you, calling a hs kid garbage

The first guy must be jealous. He was probably posted up by Chris. Try getting on the court with him. Put your money where your mouth is.

i played against him..he aint that raw ill lock that fool down and put it in his eye

Actually, Perez was only ranked in the top ten for shooting guards in the first day of the camp. He soon dropped down to 17th on day two and then 19th out of 20 shooting guards at the camp on the final day according to hoopscoop. Congrats, Chris, on getting to the camp, it is truly quite an honor... I think only about 5 kids in the last 10 years have been too all-american basketball camps from the tampa bay area. I think we can all expect pannone to leave out a little info to make his players look better. However, he does work hard for his players.

Perez is not even in the top 20 of players in Pinellas County.
Talk about a snowjob.
LIES, he plays the worst teams you can think of.

oye chris soy yo pimpy te deseo lo mejor vas a ser el mejor jugador que hay en santiago tu eres el mejor y suelte

Oldsmar is a joke.
Pannune has zero credibility cause all the lies he tells coaches.
they cant even play for a district title

mi pana siga ahi que usted es de lo mejores tu pana alberto del egido

Somewhere a village is missing their idiot.

But, wait he has been found coaching Oldsmar Christian.

You sir are a complete moron if you believe one thing out of the mouth of Pannune from Oldsmar.

Please do not write about this unsanctioned, recruiting, NON FHSAA membership school again!!

THEY ARE NOT A REAL SCHOOL OR CAN THEY PLAY IN THE FHSAA.
Thank you

To all coaches in the county,
Please stop having anything to do with this lying, recruiting, non sanctioned, non FHSAA member school.
It is a joke. Perez will be thelast player you will get to college because padded stats and lies are burning bridges.
