Garcia's briefcase of knowledge found after short scare
This is usually a hellish week for high school football coaches as they tries to orchestrate the perfect game plan for the first week of the season.
On Wednesday morning, Hillsborough coach Earl Garcia experienced 30 minutes that seemed to last forever – and it had nothing to do with football.
That morning, Garcia left his home to find that someone had broken into his truck overnight. The thief took Garcia’s briefcase, which included cash, checkbooks for four bank accounts, his Palm Pilot and several computer flash drives that contained his playbook, team information and practice scripts, which he said would have made the rest of the week's preparation for the Terriers' season opener tonight against Jefferson difficult.
"There were some books in there too, which I guess was like Kryptonite for this guy," Garcia joked.
Thirty minutes later, his briefcase turned up in a nearby trashcan in a back alley. Everything was intact, with the exception of his Palm Pilot, which was the best news Garcia could hear.
“Maybe the guy thought it was a BlackBerry or something,” Garcia said. “But it’s old. It’s like the first Palm Pilot every made. So I was happy that’s all he took. Worse case, I might miss my dermatologist appointment.”

I bet it was a small briefcase if it contained all of his knowledge.

You know you are successful when simple minded people try to pull you down to their level. Good work Garcia!
