A performance to remember for Bing

Carrollwood Day School coach Lane McLaughlin has been in the business of coaching for quite some time, and he can't recall too many performances better than the one turned in by Patriots RB/DB Darius Bing in last week's 34-14 win over Mount Dora Bible. "He was a one-man show," McLaughlin said.

He isn't kidding. To recap, here's what Bing did:

  • Returned an interception 103 yards for a touchdown.
  • Scored on a 30-yard run.
  • Produced a 50-yard kickoff return.
  • Had 75 rushing yards.
  • Made 12 tackles.
  • On fourth-and-goal from the CDS 1, he forced a Mount Dora Bible fumble.

"He was phenomenal," McLaughlin said.

For good measure, the 5-foot-7, 160-pound Bing also handled the team's long snapping duties.

thats my little brother and he can play at any lever i garuntee it...... get em tank lol

I agree . I watched Cambridge Christian play a game at Jefferson They had two kids( #11 and #5) who could play anywhere, Plant ,Chamberain , Jefferson. They were fast ,hard hitting , and did it all. Two of the best kick returners I have seen . Played both ways and were as tough as any kid on our team. #11 made two of the toughest returns I've ever seen.#5 was all over the place

I agree Coach, If he wants to talk smack don't be a coward. Now he is going to run and not say anything cause he'll embarass his school. It is probably some twerp player.

Darius Bing is a football player at any level. Ive been at a big school and believe me he could play anywhere. If your going to talk down small school football you should have the courage to state your name with your comment. Don't be a coward.

I agree Keith, many times these small schools have to have multiple players playing both ways many times half of the defense and offense is being played by kids who play both ways. I know Bing plays every single area of the game, offense, special teams, and D. He never gets a break and never quits. He is an emotional player and leader of CDS from what I can tell.
Small schools have just as talented players as Keith stated and many times play with small linemen, less talented players therefore need to do everything by themselves. Not the case with Bing because he has help with CDS' QB who is solid and their wideout Matt Monteilh is high up on the rankings in stats. Deuce Gruden is also a solid all around player. These players help Bing by taking the pressure off of him, but he gets just the same amount of big plays with some of his touches being taken away by the other big players.

Bottom line: A good game is a good game. Small schools often have very fine players, too ... Here's a list of small-school talents from Fla --- Travis Henry (Frostproof, NFL RB), Anquan Boldin (Pahokee, NFL WR), Gerard Warren (Union County, NFL DT), Sean Taylor (Gulliver Prep, NFL DB), Jarrett Johnson (Chiefland, NFL DL). Small schools play other small schools because it's all about numbers. I wouldn't be so quick to diss those guys.

hahahaha. . . don't these teams play in the blind & deaf conference. please pay more attention to better football. private schools play against bad competition
