Baldwin close to first offer?
Because the Plant offense is so strong, it's easy to forget the Panthers have a pretty good defense, too. And on that unit, no player is more valuable than strong safety Hunter Baldwin. A 6-foot-1, 200-pound senior, the three-year varsity letterwinner led the team in tackles in 2007 and is off to an excellent start this fall.
Thus far, Miami of Ohio and Stanford have shown the most interest. And each could be getting close to offering Baldwin a scholarship. "Their interest is very high," Plant coach Robert Weiner said.
Plant is sending updated game film of Baldwin to both schools this week.
"That will be their deciding point," Weiner said.
Weiner has no doubt Baldwin is a Division I player.
"He can definitely play at that level ... no question about it," Weiner said. "He's a great player and a great leader. No. 1, he's real physical. In fact, earlier this season he had the first interception of his career. He doesn't look for the ball very often. He wants to hit people and hit them hard."

Baldwin is a linebacker, he plays on defense. In 4 games he has 20 tackles plus 12 assists, and an interception.
Oh yeah other than Armwood he's only played 2 quarters each game.
He's awesome!

I thought Baldwin was a safety when he played against Da Wood. Vary good tackler, agressive, down hill, doesn't have any problems tackling in space.

Go Hunter! Go Panthers!

Nothing gives me greater pleasure than watching my Grandson play. He is a fine athelete and a wonderful young man. Reserve and polite off the field and aggressive on the field. Thats the way it should be.
