Bellamy cleared to play against Clearwater
Dunedin running back Darius Bellamy, who sprained his shoulder in last week’s loss to Largo, was cleared to play in tonight’s district game against Clearwater, according to Falcons coach Mark Everett.
But Everett said he might hold Bellamy out for personal reasons.
Bellamy, a USF recruit, has rushed for more than 400 yards and nine touchdowns this season.

bellamy is so cute!!!!

Bellamy wont even get to SATs. He has not passed the FCATS and doesent not have a great chance to. No FCAT score a certicate of attendance instead of a diploma. He just barely has a 2.0 GPA. With the sliding scale he would need about 1000 on his SATs which for him is not going to happen. I am no fan of Saint Pete Catholic. But if the kid had stayed there at least he would have been able to get a diploma and go to a JC without the SAT scores. No FCAT no JC.

Posted by: | October 09, 2008 at 08:08 PM
Very sad.

Not hate. The sad stone cold thruth. Hopefully somebody learns a leasson from it. One thing for sure Everett and Davis wont.

i am releaved he is clear of the charges. o he didnt get arrested
Posted by: | October 10, 2008 at 02:25 AM
He didnt hurt his shoulder, he got tired of getting smacked around by Largo's defense and he quit.
Posted by: | October 10, 2008 at 07:22 AM
you got that right. he talked smack all week and was made to look like a fool
Posted by: amen to 7:22 | October 10, 2008 at 08:31 AM
You are correct. He is soft. If you get to him and hit him hard a few times he says he's hurt. Jim please dont bring him to USF.
Watch tonight he will have like 250 against Clearwater and the blogs will say see how good he is.

I do not think anyone has hate for the kid. I think it is more for Everett who continually lets his players do whatever they want.

It is a shame that none of you haters have done anything in your lives newsworthy so that low lives like you can slam you. I don't care if any or all of the allegations you are claiming are true of false in the grand scheme of things what does matter that bellamy is a 17 year old kid who A)has not committed a crime or has been charged with commiting a crime (some numskull is confusing him with the coach from dun dun who has a charge pending. B) has a opportunity to get a free education and play football @ a division 1 school. and C) has done nothing to deserve the ridicule he gets from these blogs. It is a shame that more often than not when the times attempts to recognize a young athletes accomplishments the comments posted by bloggers are degrading and inflamatory. if you can't say anything positive about ANY of the athletes or don't have the courage to say it to thier faces SHUT UP and get back to the drive thru window......

The student is not very bright.... has not passed FCAT, bad ACT/SAT score... no d 1 football for him.
Posted by: reality | October 10, 2008 at 11:26 AM
Hey Reality, the "true reality" is that you dont know how to put together a proper sentence. We'er not here bashing a kid over legal issues, we're bashing him because after last year everyone made him out to be a world beater for this year. Dunedin had the nerve to say that "were going for a state title this year" when they havent been out of the 2nd round since the late 80's. Largo went to the semi-finals last year and did nothing but focus on one game at a time. Maybe you should stop defending Bellamy and take a good look at the decline in his performance from last year to this year. Then maybe you'll understand why people bash him for not putting fourth half the effort this year as he did last year...

reality,
its not a education if you cant understand it. dexter manley went to college for 4 yrs, and he could not read. do you really think he got an education????
Posted by: jose | October 10, 2008 at 11:45 AM
He's out of shape and sits in the front office for all his classes. He has a 1.8 and will not walk, very sad, and will not play ball
Posted by: | October 10, 2008 at 01:44 PM
He must have a 2.0 or he could not play. Am I missing something?
Posted by: | October 10, 2008 at 04:32 PM
"bellamy is a 17 year old kid who A)has not committed a crime or has been charged with commiting a crime"
Key word is NOT YET
Posted by: | October 10, 2008 at 09:11 PM
It didnt take for lowlife Everett to put bad boy Bellamy into a game he was holding out for discipline
Posted by: | October 11, 2008 at 08:19 AM
Adaris is one of my good friends. I have him in one of my classes this year, played little league football against him, and have known him for almost 7 years. He is one of the most respectful football players in this county. I just dont understand how older men who 9 times out of 10 have no graduated, sit around talking about a child who is only trying to succeed. If you parents really have nothing else better to do but gossip im sorry for you. Maybe your just upset that your kid is not a football player or will never be as good as Mr.Bellamy. But i think i speak for him when I say let him play and let the stats prove it. Oh and about the classroom he does try his hardest but some people are not a gifted in the classroom. And if you have a problem with anything im saying we can talk about it at the next home game at DHS. Until then get a life and let high school kids play high school football.
Keep your head up D-BELL let the haters hate. HA HA!

Amen to that SS.

The real tragedy is that Bellamy is a good kid who has the ability to play at the next level and because of his grades and test scores may not get that opportunity. Where was the coach, his teachers, his guidance counselor and most important his parents in making sure he got good grades by tutoring, extra help and after school or evening work?
Posted by: | October 11, 2008 at 01:17 PM
I hear he has a 1.5 per his coaches and they still let him play. Class group up there at Dun Dun. By the way he can play with his 1.5 till the end of the semester. He's a great player with D1 talent and is special. We should not hate the kid. We should hate his parents and his friends for messing up the kids life and not slapping him in the butt. Everett you have ZERO CLASS! Which is 1 more class them Bellamy has attended.

Is Dunedin on the quad system of reporting periods? I know that helps CSide keep their ineligible players on the field for at least the football season. Nice program,,does nothing to help a kid w/football skills ever make it at the next level where "oh my god",,grades are important?? Wake up coaches, parents,,school board football is a little game compared to the big game of "LIFE"!

Good thing the personal issues were resolved at half time so Bellamy could play the second half.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 11:28 AM
Should have stayed at Saint Pete Catholic and at least he would not have to worry about the FCATs.
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 11:53 AM
funny how his grades all of sudden were ok
Posted by: | October 13, 2008 at 01:44 PM
When he attended SPC the entire team had a study hall for one hour before practice started. During that time all ofthe players had the opportunity to get with any of their teachers for extra help. Say what you want about Dan Mancuso, and he has been drug through it and some deserved, but his kids always made grades, on their own merit and were able to get into school.

Someone who actually know facts, D-bell came to Dunedin who an 1.8. He had to do nova net and go to camp anytown to help pull up he's grades. So what did SPC do for him?
Posted by: | October 15, 2008 at 09:02 AM
I went to SPC and played for Dan and no one cared more about getting players grades up and in to college than Dan did. Bellamy left SPC because they challenged him to be better than he was for a life at Dunedin which set him up for failure. Study hall works if you put in the effort what's the old saying you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. It would have been nice to see Bellamy in a Bulls uniform running wild on the big east because I think he is a great talent but no grades=no play. For his future I hope he gets his grades up.
