Bloomingdale Pitcher Commits to FGCU
Left-handed Bloomingdale pitcher R.J. Brown has committed to Florida Gulf Coast. Brown, who will be a four-year varsity letterwinner, went 5-2 with a 2.9 ERA and had three complete games last spring. In 45.2 innings, he allowed 48 hits and recorded a 3:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Florida Gulf Coast went 38-15 last season.
Rivals.com recently ranked the top teams in the top three states and Florida Gulf Coast was fourth in the state of Florida, which has 13 Division I teams. Following the 2008 season, the Eagles had three players selected in Major League Baseball’s amateur draft.
