Bucs assistant sidelined again
Gulf offensive coordinator Brian Wright, who suffered a ruptured esophagus in April but overcame a series of post-operative complications to return to the Bucs sideline, was back in the hospital Tuesday.
Bucs coach Jay Fulmer said Wright appeared to be having problems over the weekend with the large surgical stent implanted in his esophagus. He was at Gainesville's Shands Hospital -- where he had the stent implanted in late May -- on Tuesday.
Fulmer was uncertain whether Wright would be back for Saturday night's Class 3A, District 8 home showdown against Hudson.
Wright, 45, in his third year on Gulf's staff, lost 90 pounds and underwent six surgical procedures upon rupturing his esophagus while eating a steak dinner at his home in mid-April. Nonetheless, he returned in time for the start of preseason drills and hadn't missed any of Gulf's first six games.
