Countryside wins prestigious Bishop Moore Invitational
Countryside continued its torrid play and improved to a perfect 18-0 on the season after winning all five of its matches and earning first place at the Bishop Moore Invitational volleyball tournament over the weekend.
The Cougars didn't drop a game in defeating Boone, South Plantation, Winter Park and Spruce Creek to reach the finals, where they defeated defending 4A state champ Jensen Beach 25-23, 25-18, 15-25, 25-20 to win the championship. The loss in game three was the only game the Cougars have lost all season.
Countryside senior middle hitter Madison Truluck made the all-tournament team and was named MVP for her performance. Junior outside hitter Davionna DiSalvatore also was named to the all-tourney squad.

As one of Countryside's opponents, I am well aware of just how good they are as a volleyball team. They play defense like nobody else and hit very intelligently also. Congratulations are in order for a big tournament win.
