Slow start didn’t faze Crusaders
When Tampa Catholic began the season 0-2, the Crusaders didn’t panic. Although TC didn’t like being winless, those inside the program knew several things contributed to it. Such as …
- The schedule: Ocala Trinity Catholic, which beat the Crusaders 20-10 in the opener, is 6-1.
- Injuries: About a half-dozen TC starters were missing in each defeat.
- School: TC started class just two days after practice began. That meant the Crusaders didn't have a week’s worth of two-a-days.
“We didn’t make any excuses, but we also understood there were a lot of factors,” TC coach Bob Henriquez said. “I don’t think there was any lack of confidence or a belief that we couldn’t get things rolling again.”
Today, TC is 4-2.
During their four-game winning streak, the Crusaders, who are generally pretty healthy now, have outscored teams by an average of 37-8.
“In some ways (starting 0-2) was a humbling experience,” Henriquez said. “It brought us down to earth. Most of the kids viewed it as an opportunity to prove people wrong. And they learned how quickly some people jump off the bandwagon. Sometimes that’s a good thing. It isolates a team and that team can come together.”

Keith-
Please finish the story. They also lost to CCC. Where are they in the Fab50. Now look at the wins - 49-0 over St Pete Catholic tends to skew the average points per win higher. Look at the W-L recored of who they have beat and the W-L record of who they lost to. Trinity Catholic is 6-1 but CCC is 3-4 and TC lost to them. They beat St Pete Catholic = 0-6 big deal. What are the W-L for the other wins. Their next decent game is against Jesuit.

I agree. Above average skill athletes playing against below average athletes. Green is playing against youth league type varsity players. What a shame.

Tampa Catholic is not that good at all even when they are completely healthy. They play horrible teams on their schedule and never dominate those teams by many points. Just last week the score was 33-21(everyone healthy).

I think that Tampa Catholic really is not that good. They play horrible teams and don't even dominate their teams by that many points. Last week their score was 33-21 (everyone healthy)
