Tension between Chamberlain and Jefferson peaks
Chamberlain coach Billy Turner feared there might be some tension between his Chiefs and Jefferson Thursday night.
During pregame warmups of Thursday night's 42-21 Chamberlain victory -- a game that gave Turner his 250th win -- Turner pointed to the 50-yard line and said he told his players not to cross it before the game.
"If anyone does, it will be out of pure selfishness," he said
Several players on Turner's Chamberlain squad transferred from Jefferson this year, but nothing came to pass of Turner's fear until Chiefs quarterback Dontae Aycock (right) was knocked out of bounds on a late hit by the Jefferson sideline. Aycock was on the ground for several moments -- he later said he just had the wind knocked out of him -- but he returned on the next play.
The officials then called the team captains together to issue a warning. And two plays later, they showed they meant it, ejecting Chamberlain running back Kenny Allen from the game after he received an unsportsmanlike conduct call after the Chiefs scored a touchdown to go ahead 28-15 just before the half. Allen watched the second half from the sideline, his pads off, and could miss the Chiefs' next game against Alonso.
The tension escalated so much that the teams didn't shake hands after the game, a move that Jefferson coach Mike Fenton said was made by Chamberlain.
“It didn’t get ugly on our part,” Fenton said. “You can write that down. We didn’t shake hands after the game, but that wasn’t on us. That was on Chamberlain.”

Plant coaches must have gotten that from Dennis Braun. He's famous for not shaking hands after baseball games.

Plant COULDN'T shake hands? That's crap, Plant wouldn't shake hands and it was the Plant coaches who escalated things. The late hits by the Plant outside linebacker on Aycock were the most obviously coached to it stuff. And for Jefferson, the dirtiest team year in and year out, to say anything about someone else!

"knocked out of bounce"? Hoo boy, Encina, you must have been halfway to Lalaland when you wrote that.
Let's be clear: Jefferson committed no less than THREE brutal late hits - one on the QB, another when a Jefferson OL stomped on #32's thigh after a tackle, and another on the DB (#4 iirc) that nearly KO'd the kid. They were raw 'cos the WR who transferred caught 2 TD's and they were getting routed. So they tried to take someone out.
Jefferson's coach has been preaching about how Chamberlain recruited the transfers, but they left b/c he treated them poorly. Turner doesn't have to recruit; kids want to play for him because he doesn't just make them good football players - he makes them men.
Wish Fenton could do the same, but he's off to a slow start. Learn how to take care of kids before more leave the program.

There is a common thread here, Plant couldn't shake hands w/ Chamb last year for similar reasons, what's up???? It's only a game and lets teach our boys some class here!

Chamberlain's AD decided to not shake hands after a CHS player had his leg stomped on after a play(then had to be helped off), another player punched while on the ground, hit the CHS QB out of bounds twice, and numerous cheap shots by Jefferson players. He was trying to avoid a situation after a game that could have led to problems for players from both teams.

I find it very disturbing that these kids have so much dislike for one another, when just a year ago they were like brothers, apart of one team. I blame the coach - not the entire coaching staff of Chamberlain, but one in particular. It takes a village to raise our children and instead of teaching them the correct way to deal with their problems, you write letters to the athletic director and fill these young mens minds with garbage. It hurts to see these guys carry the burdens of YOUR frustrations and YOUR dislikes that they couldn't even shake hands after the game - THAT IS A GREAT DISPLAY OF UNSPORTSMANLIKE
CONDAUCT IF I HAVE EVER SEEN IT. Most of the kids parents and I grew up and/or went to shcool together and now our children are doing the same thing. It saddens me to see things like this happen, its like and nasty divorce and the kids are being dragged through the worst of it.
Congrats to T.O. & RICO - keep doing great things and remember this is your stepping stone to the next level.

Would not have that problem if fhsaa did something about recruiting. Several players transfered from Jefferson to Chamberlain. Must have been alot of moving going on. Crap!

Coach Turner is a great person and leader. But, at times his players are without class. Two years ago, his team came to Gaither on Senior's night and were swearing at the mothers on the field prior to the game beginning.
It was a hard fought victory when Gaither failed to make the 2 point conversion at the game's conclusion.
As his team left the field, many gave the 'middle finger salute,' apparently meaning they were #1. I failed to mention the Chamberlain coach that pushed Blair over a bench as the teams lined up to shake hands.
Come on Billy, you can do better!
